Yoshie recently discovered Arnold Palmers (the drink, not the ummm... plural of the golfer). Last night when she was checking what
Wikipedia had to say on the subject, she discovered that there are alcoholic variations of the drink. I had a problem with all of them. Not because they are alcoholic variations of a popular nonalcoholic drink, but because they were all named improperly or ill conceived.
The first in the article is a "Tom Arnold." This is basically an Arnold Palmer with vodka. This name just doesn't sound right to me. I would think if someone wanted to put the "Tom" part in the name, then the drink should have gin in it. That's a Tom Collins with iced tea instead of seltzer. The rest of the drinks seemed like the were hastily whipped together in a corporate kitchen for a recipe to print on the back of a bottle.
Anyway, after much deliberation, I came up with my own Arnold Palmer alcoholic variation with a clever name:
A Sweaty Palmer! That's an Arnold Palmer with tequila and a salted rim. I'm not sure if it's actually good or not. I don't really like tequila, so I wouldn't be the best judge.
